The Most Romantic Places in the UK

You don’t have to whisk yourselves away to iconic cities in Europe or beyond to experience a perfect romantic break away, we’ve got all you need right here in the UK. Our tiny nation holds some of the most beautiful places to a perfect couples getaway or romantic weekend.

Giant’s Causeway, Northern Ireland

Giant’s Causeway
You’ve most likely heard of this incredible UNESCO World Heritage Site, you may have even seen photos, but nothing compares to taking in the sights, smells and sounds of this truly unique spot on the shores of Northern Ireland. Its puzzling stone formations, the sea crashing against them and spectacular sunsets mean that it’s somewhere you can visit all year round and never get bored of the experience it has to offer.

A few members of our team have been to visit and recommended it at any time of the year - any cold or wet weather you may encounter on a trip in the UK is definitely overshadowed by the natural beauty of this site.

The Cotswolds

Cotswolds villages
Cotswolds villages are some of the prettiest quaint villages in the UK. And you’ve got a huge choice here; there are hundreds of small towns and villages in its one hundred mile stretch from north to south. A visit here feels a bit like going back in time to before high rises and supermarket chains dominated the high street. We’ve managed to pick a few favourite villages for you to check out:

If you like antique shopping, then this is the place for you. It’s a beautiful yet bustling centre of activity with romantic restaurants, pubs and tea shops along with the stunning architecture that pleases so many visiting from near or far.

One of the few places in the UK that have been left completely unspoilt by modernisation. Just outside Cirencester, its Norman roots still shine through in the village buildings. On the outskirts of the village, you'll find the Roman Villa, steeped in history and early artefacts that will keep you enthralled on your visit.

Probably one of my favourites in the Cotswolds, I've been here many times and love to enjoy a day at the Bathurst Estate. There are acres of land you can explore and see the local wildlife but if you're not in the mood for nature, I'd recommend a tour of the House as it holds fascinating stories about the vast grounds and the Bathurst family that could keep you talking for hours.

Edinburgh, Scotland

Edinburgh Castle
Edinburgh is one of the most diverse cities in the UK, with so much artistic culture, a range of architectural styles to appreciate, like the incredible Edinburgh Castle. Perfect for a weekend break, it has tons of daytime and evening activities and entertainment to choose from on a short visit from elsewhere.

A romantic break here is an easy one to plan for sure. You can fill your weekend with intimate meals at your pick of amazing restaurants with top chefs and Michelin stars, theatre shows at The Edinburgh Playhouse, a wander around the National Museum of Scotland and finish off with some love beneath the stars at the Royal Observatory. Couples can enjoy a walk around art galleries or if venturing outside, a stroll along the Water of Leith.

The Lake District

Harbor at Lake District

There’s so much contrasting scenery, culture and history surrounding Lake District National Park, which makes it hard to find a reason why you wouldn’t consider it for your romantic getaway with your loved one. Steeped in beauty, even a stroll or horse ride around one of the lakes on a crisp afternoon would put anyone in the mood for love!

You could take a trip on the Lakeside Railway and visit a number of attractions along the way or hire a boat and watch the sunset over Windermere. There are also four railway attractions for steam train lovers to visit and ride on.

Bath, Somerset

The famous Royal Crescent at Bath, Sometset

The “thermae” bath spa city of Bath, known for its Roman-built baths and stunning architecture is perfect for couples wanting to soak in the sights and relax on their romantic stay in the area. You can fill your days with as much or as little as you want because you’ll never run out of things to choose from.

Treat your partner to a tour around the historic sites of The Roman Baths, Bath Abbey and Royal Crescent or visit one of the multiple museums along the way. Pick from art, astronomy or architecture, but we can assure you of one thing; you’ll want to see them all!

How about a spot of shopping? There are so many places to buy your special someone a heartfelt gift here and when you’re all shopped out you can treat your partner to a candlelit dinner or maybe even a spot of wine-tasting to get your energy back before heading out for the rest of the evening.

Make your break a little adventure

We want to propose a new way of discovering these places hand in hand: Visiting them on RV. It will allow you to move around and stay wherever you find a caravan park, allowing you to enjoy every inch of these beautiful places. Because what's nicer than cuddling up together in front of a sunset? Or having dinner under the starred sky during summer?

Staying in an RV means enjoying your rural or coastal retreat like a little adventure, away from routine and predictable. But without renouncing to any comfort.
