Easter holidays are just around the corner and you may be struggling to think of how you can fill two whole weeks with kid's stuff. We thought it would be a great idea to come up with some ideas for you in case you hadn't even started to plan yet! We love the East coast of the UK so we've found some events happening in and around the Easter period that you and the little ones can enjoy together.
Things to do in Lincolnshire this Easter
30th March 2018
The Circus Of Horrors will be performing their new show, Voodoo at the Embassy Theatre in Skegness. It’s a wonderment of funny, mind-bending acts performed by the first circus performance to ever get to a final on Britain’s Got Talent. It’s family-friendly, so everyone can get involved but if your very little ones get scared easily, maybe not for you!
The sanctuary is home to orphaned and injured seals that have been rescued from the shores of the Lincolnshire coast, and where they work hard to help rehabilitate them before releasing them back to the wild, if possible. But there’s not just penguins here! The sanctuary looks after all sorts of animals for yu to learn about and even pet. From butterflies, meerkats and penguins to alpacas, spiders and reptiles, your kids will absolutely love a day spent here.
There’s tons of fun to be had on the pier, it’s got it all! Soft play for the younger ones, Laser Quest and bowling for the entire family and when you’re all played out, there’s an American style Diner to refuel.
Also on the pier, you’ll find Escape Skegness, with escape room games with different themes for you to choose from. There’s no age limit for players but if you’ve brought along very young children they may find the puzzles quite difficult.
It’s absolutely huge and ‘Visit Lincolnshire’ have ranked it as one of their top 10! You could spend an entire weekend here exploring the beach and shores of the Lincolnshire coast and never want to leave. Once you’ve finished burying the kids in the sand, or when they’ve finished burying you, you can take a ride on the Sand Train when you need a bit of a rest. The sea-front has plenty to keep the whole family... exhausted to be honest! There’s mini-golf, amusements, a beach-front skatepark and the list goes on.
This is an experience that most would dream of having, so why not give yourself and the kids one to remember this Easter holiday. Help the keepers do their daily jobs and feed the animals whilst catching all the shows and meeting the Meerkats and more! Find out more about being a keeper for the day here.
April 8th 2018 10am-4pm
Every year, Lincolnshire Showground has a full-on family makeover to become home to ‘Countryside Lincs’. With interactive experiences for the kids which include FOOD, TRACTORS and ANIMALS, it’s a day that shouldn’t be missed! You’ll certainly thank us afterwards for your peaceful evening when the kid’s have knocked themselves out from all the fun they’ve had. There’s a farmer’s market too where you can get all your goodies to take home with you and enjoy.
April 5th - Aug 31st
Give your kids a history lesson by taking them down to RAF Scampton - they’ve turned an old hanger into a recreation of the WW1 Royal Flying Corps Airfield. A great day out for all and you can learn something about british wartime all in one go!
Things to do in East Anglia this Easter
The tour only takes 20 minutes, but it’s well worth doing if you can spare the time. Sitting slightly back from the beachfront, the lighthouse is still used as a marker to guide shipping vessels along the Suffolk coast.
March 30th - April 2nd
Eastertide is a Tudor themed Easter event where visitors can enjoy entry to Kentwell Hall estate for lots of activities like an Easter quiz, an Easter egg trail, a Heffalump Hunt whilst interacting with over 100 Tudors that will be roaming the grounds. There’s also a farmyard with lambs, chicks and piglets to ahhhhhhh at.
April 1st - FREE ENTRY
Even if you’re not a huge car fan, some of these vehicles will astound you with their shiny, exaggerated engines, spectacular paintwork and sleek lines. You may even a have a car nut in the family, in which case you may want a day at the stock car races!
Spend an evening at the Circus watching the real-live-action of Pirates Live! Like the movie blockbuster, it’s full of jokes (that all the family should appreciate), acrobatics, fire-breathers, daredevils and much, much more! Book your tickets early to avoid disappointment.
