  Sadly we have been really disappointed by Dormobile and we hired from them as looking to buy one of their campers. Considering we had never hired a camper before, the handover was basic. We also had to return less than 2 hrs after collection as the gas had not been connected properly, and there was a gas leak in the van which we smelt - this left us with less than full tank. The reversing camera was only intermittently working, not ideal in a 6m+ vehicle. There was a strong smell from the toilet as we arrived at our first site, turns out it had not been emptied from the previous rental (despite dormobile saying it had) as it was full and over spilling with waste & solids which was not ours! There was no instructions for removal or use of the cassette toilet at all, and no chemicals to refill. There was no hose to refill the fresh water which we needed as had the camper for a week. The leisure battery fuse blew meaning we had no leisure battery when camping (with no hook up) so we had to buy fuses and speak to the workshop guy to fix it on bank holiday weekend. This led to the fridge not working and the contents had to be thrown away. All in all the experience with Dormavile was not great. They were very unapologetic for all the things that went wrong or were missing and not prepared to compensate or reimburse as this needed to come from Camplify (the hose, the fuses). The camper itself, we loved but we will not buy from them if this is how they treat their renters!

  We rented the campervan for 6 weeks and had a great time throughout the UK. We were given a replacement van due to problems with the one we thought we were getting. The replacement camper itself was great, however it came with leisure batteries that wouldnt hold their charge so we couldnt run the fridge while off grid camping for the first week until we replaced the batteries. We also needed to regas the air conditioner as it just blew warm air, which was unpleasant as it was a hot week. Our biggest issue is that Dormobile asked us to pay for the batteries and regas at £522 and now 6 weeks later we are still waiting for the refund as it has had to go through Camplify even though its a Dormobile vehicle. This is unacceptable customer service considering we corrected their problem, and we had to send numerous messages, emails and phone calls only to have it processed after we returned from our trip. Other than this issue the campervan suited our needs perfectly and Robbie from Dormobile was excellent in his communication even though he didnt control the finances.
