Hiring rules

• 1) Smoking Policy:
• a) No smoking or vaping inside the van
• 2) Pets:
• a) We allow one Labrador sized or two Westie sized dogs in our vehicles. Please ensure they are well behaved and properly restrained whilst travelling.
• 3) Facilities where you can stay:
• a) Approved Campsites | Legal Camping Facilities Only | No festivals | No LayBys
• 4) Group Hire:
• a) No samesex groups i.e. hen or stag parties
• 5) Age Restrictions:
• a) Hirer age restrictions Min 25 years | Max 75 years with at least 3 years driving experience
• 6) Awning:
• a) Awning (Optional) must be packed away before bad weather arises/leaving the van/overnight
• 7) Leisure Battery & Gas
• a) Leisure Battery will be charged prior to rental commencement. Charging the battery while on rental is at renters’ expense and only using approved cables.
• b) Gas Cylinder is provided although if the gas runs out during the hire, then replacements are at renter’s expense.
• 8) Emergencies or Fault Lights
• a) If any engine lights come on the dashboard, pull over immediately. If an accident occurs, get off the road, stay safe, call Camplify on 0330 808 1811 / call the number of the breakdown service provider provided to you / call owner.
• 9) Damage, Theft or Loss
• a) If damage happens, you must report it immediately who, what, where and when will be required. Damage, theft or loss. You are responsible for and will pay to us (whether you were at fault or not) the cost of repairing any damage to the vehicle which was not noted on the vehicle condition at the start of your rental (fair wear and tear accepted) depending on any insurance or protection you have (as set out in camplify policy).
• b) If special cleaning is required for any reason, you will be charged the cost of such cleaning.
• c) If the vehicle is stolen or lost during the rental period, you are responsible for and will pay to us the cost of replacing the vehicle depending on any insurance or protection you have as set out in the camplify policy.
• 10) Mileage
• a) The maximum mileage allowance is 250 miles per daily rental, or 1250 miles per weekly rental included in the normal booking price. Excess mileage will be charged at £0.45 per mile at the completion of the trip deducted from your camplify deposit.
• 11) Refuelling
• a) Fuel is not included in your rental rate, and you must pay for all fuel used during the rental period. If you do not return the vehicle with the same level of fuel as in the vehicle at pickup, we will charge you for the missing quantity of fuel at the last AA published National average pump price, plus our reasonable refuelling service charge for our having to refuel the vehicle.
• 12) Rental Period
• a) Camplify insurance covers a full 24hour period although our standard pick and drop off times are as follows:
• First Rental Day Standard Pickup: 09:00 – 10:00
• Last Rental Day Dropoff: 17:0018:00
• b) We do not offer any rental extensions and late returns will incur a £50.00 late return fee.
• 13) Charges (In addition to those listed above)
• a) Fines. You are responsible for and must promptly pay all fines, charges and penalties issued as a result of use of the vehicle during the rental period, this includes tolls, congestion charges, road traffic offences (such as speeding fines), parking offences, clamping release, and release from compounds, whether you were driving the vehicle or not. You agree that we may pass your details (as well as a copy of your rental agreement) to the relevant issuing authority, upon request. We will charge you an administration charge of £45.00 each time we have to deal with a fine, charge or penalty incurred as a result of use of the vehicle whilst it is on hire to you. If we pay a fine, charge or penalty notice sent to us you agree that we will recharge you the cost of each fine or charge that we pay on your behalf. If the vehicle is seized by any authority, you shall pay any civiI penalty, restoration and repatriation charge plus costs we incur based on our reasonable and proper costs incurred in releasing the vehicle, and a loss of income charge whilst we cannot rent out the vehicle.
• b) Delivery & collection charges if you ask us to deliver/collect the vehicle from you, based on our reasonable and proper costs incurred delivering/collecting the vehicle (depending on the address).
• c) Vehicle recovery and repair charges will be payable for recovering the vehicle and any loss or damage that occurs if we reasonably consider that an accident has been caused by failure to take proper care, deliberate misuse or a failure to comply with these terms and conditions by you, any additional named driver and/or any unauthorised driver, and/or if collision damage waiver does not apply or is invalidated as a result of any such act or omission.
• d) Accessories and keys not returned with the vehicle; we will charge you to replace such items.
• e) Additional rental days for each day that you retain the vehicle after the end of your agreed rental period (whether you extend your rental or are late returning the vehicle to us). If you are more than 60 minutes late returning the vehicle then we will charge you an extra days' rental at our then current rental rates for each day or part day that you retain the vehicle beyond the agreed return date and time.
• 14) Your responsibilities
• a) You must take all reasonable care of the vehicle throughout the rental period and drive with due care and attention and in accordance with all legal requirements. You must familiarise yourself with the vehicle controls and must always lock and enable any antitheft devices fitted in the vehicle when it is parked or left unattended. You must use the correct type of fuel and fluids for the vehicle and routinely inspect the condition of the vehicle including levels of oil, water, Adblue, coolant levels and tyre pressure.
• b) You must inspect the vehicle at pickup and notify a member of staff if you notice any damage that is not described on the vehicle condition report. You must notify us immediately if you become aware that you will, or are likely to, exceed the maximum mileage.
• c) You must not overload the vehicle with property or passengers.
• d) You must not rent the vehicle to anyone else nor sell, dispose of, mortgage or pawn the vehicle, nor give or attempt to give anyone any legal rights over the vehicle.
• e) You must not use a mobile communication device that may distract you from driving, including a mobile phone without a handsfree device. You must not, nor allow anyone else, to smoke in the vehicle.
• f) You must not fit (nor allow anyone to fit) your own equipment to the vehicle which may cause damage to the vehicle, for example a roof or bike rack, any tow bar or signage. You must not fit winter tyres (nor allow anyone to do so) or make any other modifications to the vehicle without our prior written permission.
• g) You must not let anyone service or repair the vehicle without our prior written permission. If we give permission, then you need to provide us with a valid VAT receipt for the work to get a refund for such work.
• h) You must return the vehicle to the original pickup location at the end of the rental period in the same condition it was in at the start of the rental period (fair wear and tear excepted). If we are collecting the vehicle, it must be available for collection at any time up to 8 working hours from the end of the rental period without the imposition of any fines or congestion charges. You are responsible for the condition of the vehicle until a member of our staff inspects it.
• 15) Restrictions on use
• a) Only the named driver(s) may drive the vehicle. Each driver must have a full driving licence valid in the United Kingdom for the type of vehicle being rented for the full rental period.
• b) You must not use nor permit the vehicle to be used for any of the following purposes:
• i) carriage of passengers or property for hire or reward (e.g. private hire or courier) (unless you are a corporate customer, are specifically insured to do so and have our prior written permission).
• ii) to give driving tuition or operate a driving school.
• iii) racing, offroad use, reliability trials, speed testing or taking part in rallies, contests, or trials, wherever they are located, official or not.
• iv) to carry flammable, harmful, toxic, radioactive or dangerous materials. or anything illegal or that is likely to damage the vehicle.
• v) transporting live animals (with the exception of assistance dogs).
• vi) to push or tow another vehicle, trailer or other object (without our prior written permission),
• vii) for any purpose that requires an operator's licence (unless you have our prior written permission); or
• viii) for any illegal purpose and/or the commission of an offence (whether criminal or civil).
• c) You must not use the vehicle offroad or on gravel roads or roads that are unfit for motor vehicles or where the surface or condition of it involves risks for the tyres or for the underside of the vehicle or for the vehicle Itself, nor allow the vehicle to be driven by anyone under the influence of alcohol, drugs or any other substance (whether legal or illegal) that may impair driving ability.
• d) You must not take or drive the vehicle outside of the United Kingdom.

  Easy van to drive around country roads. Everything you need is available with the added feature of a bike rack and awning .

  We had a great trip in the van stopping at 3 different sites in 5 days. Pitching the awning a bit tricky at 1st, but we got better the next times and set up time miles quicker than the normal tent we go away in. Alexandra's communication was excellent and pick up and return all went well. Overall the van was great and we felt quite affectionate toward Dora at the end,

  Dora was a great van! We hired the camper for a trip to Wales with our dogs and she was equipped with everything we could need with lots of space for storage. The owners were really responsive and had lots of great tips and info about the van. They were really understanding about dogs as well having 2 of their own. We stayed for 2 nights in Dora in a non electric pitch and everything worked perfectly, we cooked and listened to music during that time and had a great time. We used the side awning to shelter us from the rain which worked perfectly, we could still enjoy the outdoors undercover. The van comes equipped with camping chairs too which is great as you don't need to take up more space brining your own. We definitely use Dora again, she made our trip a joy!

  We have just spent the most amazing 5 days in the Lake District in Dora. Just the right size for the country lanes with everything you could possibly need. Alex was super helpful providing the awning and outdoor furniture and answering any little question we had. Alex was great arranging a suitable drop off time meaning we had the day to enjoy before bringing the van back. We had a brilliant time wouldnt hesitate to recommend Dora!
