Meet Oscar Wild, our beloved fully off-grid MWB Peugeot Boxer (2016) who is a joy to drive & a dream to camp in! Newly fitted in June '22 Oscar has been built to accommodate 3 people (2 adults / 1 child) with an extended width double bed, to sleep tall people stretched out (up to 6'3!) The bed converts into a seating area (seats 4 comfortably & 6 cozily!) along with a pop up table to eat, work & play on. The extra small single bed (suitable for a child up to age 5) pops out from an extendable bed frame by the side passenger door. The beds are made up / taken down in just 1 min & house firm, comfortable cushioned mattresses, with reading lights / USB chargers & 2 plug points within easy access for convenience. Oscar has been stylishly designed & fitted from scratch according to our own design to make them as comfortable / versatile as possible in a MWB van, that also has the benefit of being very easy to drive & navigate, whatever road you are embarking on. Along with the convertible bed, Oscar has ample space in the garage to store your belongings, in handy removable wicker baskets, that store on top of one another. We have made the garage easy to access from either the rear of the van or from the inside, just by lifting up the bench seats. A fully equipped portaloo is stored here, along with 2 x pop up camping chairs & tables, an electric hook up cable and extra ground rugs. Oscar has a beautifully equipped kitchen with a bespoke made, hand finished worktop which matches both pop up tables. It comes complete with a two burner gas stove, a gorgeous black sink with a copper tap, an extra cover for the sink to extend the worktop space and an extra extendable pull out worktop to use on the left hand side if needed. There are 3 overhead cupboards which house all your crockery in supplied melamine (so it won't break!) plus drinking vessels of every description & a water jug. The cupboards & drawers below the sink have all the amenities you need incl pot/pans, bowls, a small bin, cutlery, utensils, cleaning items, pegs, tupperware ... you name it, its there! Opposite the kitchen is a brand new fridge with small freezer compartment to store all your perishables with an extra cushioned seating area positioned above it, which converts to the small single bed. To the side of this seat is a small extendable table, which conveniently pops out the side of the van, to place drinks or food on when sitting outside. Note: There are 2 x extra cool boxes (1 x soft / 1 x plastic) to house any extras, that don't quite fit in the fridge. Above the cab you will find further storage with five wicker baskets for food / belongings with ease of access. This is where we have stored a fire blanket / extinguisher for safety purposes, along with a smoke / carbon monoxide detector fitted in the ceiling. The front twin passenger seat flips around to face the interior of the van & has its own pop up table (stored behind the drivers seat) which opens up the whole interior of the van, acting as extra seating for visitors. There is a black curtain to separate the interior from the cab, if extra privacy is required, thermal screens for the windscreen / side windows, black roller blinds for the side doors & curtains for the barn doors at the back. We have installed an extractor fan above the kitchen, a pop up opening hatch in the roof & two small side tinted windows (one of them opening) either side of the double bed for viewing & ventilation purposes. There is also a diesel heater should you feel the need to warm Oscar (& yourselves!) up at anytime. Both side doors open fully but only one (passenger side) is accessible through. On the drivers side you have ease of access to a separate 50L clean water & waste water tank, the latter of which has a connected tap housed beneath the van, to empty the waste water when required. There is a shower head connected to the clean water tank, which allows you to have a cold shower first thing in the morning or to wash off those sandy toes before climbing back in the van, after spending the day on the beach! Power wise, the van has a battery system with a split charge relay device which charges 2 x 12v batteries as you drive, which means you should never run out of power. There are also solar panels on the roof to allow off-grid use at anytime, allowing you to switch from one to the other via the ignition, easily. Added to that is a new SINE converter which means you can plug in your electronics for use on grid.
