Ready to buy your static caravan? You’ve thought about why you want one, researched the type of caravan and holidays you want, considered your budget and whether to buy new or used. Now it’s time for the fun part – buying your van.

Buying new, buying used, buying in England, buying on a caravan park, buying off site… there are plenty of ways to buy a static caravan.

Here’s our overview of them, plus our pick of the best websites for static caravan sales

Holiday parks

If you know which holiday park or holiday park group you want your static caravan to be sited on, all you need to do is visit their website, visit the park and pick out the caravan you want. Generally, you can buy new or used statics on most UK holiday parks.

Some of the main holiday parks for static caravan sales are:
  • Parkdean Resorts

Parkdean is the biggest holiday park operator, with over 60 parks in coastal, lakeside and countryside settings in England, Scotland and Wales. The wide range of options runs from starter static caravans to luxury lodges and chalets, with both new and used vans on offer.

Used static caravans start at just under £8,000 and new from just under £16,000; deposits start from 10%. The first year’s pitch fees are included in the cost.

  • Park Holidays

Spread across several locations on England’s south coast and east up to Lowestoft in Suffolk, the 130+ parks under the Park Holidays umbrella specialise in coastal holidays for static caravan owners as well as touring and camping guests.

Like Parkdean, there’s a wide range of static caravans on offer here, from affordable vans for sale starting from under £10,000 to to luxury lodges coming in at just under £90,000. If you plan to spend a great deal of time in your static, it’s worth noting that most Park Holidays parks have a 50-week season.

  • Haven

Haven’s 38 parks are in coastal regions around England and in Scotland and South Wales. It also also new and used static caravans in a range of prices (pre-owned from just under £15,000 to new from just under £25,000), and also offers lodges.

Part-exchange is available too – trade in an existing static, or part-exchange your tourer or motorhome.

The above are three of the biggest holiday park operators in the UK, but check out smaller companies for static caravan sales too:

Salop Leisure (Midlands)
New statics for sale (Southport and Northumberland)

Independent parks

You might find that you have your heart set on a particular park, whether it’s part of a big group like Haven or a small family company.

If this is the case, your first question to ask is whether the park has static caravans for sale on site. If it doesn’t, or if you want to buy elsewhere, ask about the rules and procedures for buying off site and bringing your caravan to the park.

Static caravan sales – official classifieds

Another effective way to find your new home is to look at sales websites which have sections dedicated to selling static caravans, or sales sites dedicated specifically to statics.

Whether you’re looking for a used or a new static, it’s almost certain you’ll find something to suit your budget at one of these sites:

Static caravan sales – private dealers

Check in the classified ads of your local newspaper to see if there are any static caravans for sale, or browse the listings at these sites:

(Caution needed: don’t hand over money until you’ve seen the static, are happy with it and are satisfied that it’s the lister’s to sell.)

Static caravan sales – searching geographically

If you’re 100% sure about the region you want to buy your static caravan in (rather than being happy with something general like by the coast), it makes sense to narrow down your search geographically, eg:

  • Static caravans for sale Scotland
  • Static caravans for sale Wales
  • Static caravans for sale Cornwall
  • Static caravans for sale Lake District

And if you’ve already decided that you want an easy-to-get-to bolthole not far from home? Just search for “static caravans near me”.

Static caravan sales – caravan clubs and caravan shows

Get complete peace of mind by buying your used or new static caravan from a caravanning association such as or the Camping and Caravanning Club or the Caravan and Motorhome Club (formerly the Caravan Club).

You’ll need to be a member to buy, so will have access to loads of advice, events and free guides.

If you’re in the market for a new static and budget isn’t too much of a problem, check out the very latest models at UK caravan shows – use the websites for an idea of what you might buy:
