The second of our Oban campsites close to the ferry terminal is Oban Caravan and Camping Park, also within an easy three miles of both the town centre and the ferry. It’s in a rural setting of 350 acres along the coast, with breathtaking views out towards the scenic island of Kerrera. Pitches are a choice of grass or hardstanding and suitable for motorhomes and caravans, with electric hook-up available if required. Dogs are welcome.

3. North Ledaig Caravan Park

A family-run business established in 1962, North Ledaig Caravan Park is a top pick for motorhome campsites near Oban. Affiliated to the Caravan Club, the site offers one area exclusively for Caravan Club & Motorhome Club members and three areas for both Club members and non-members.
It’s a 30-acre park in a seashore setting, and like many campsites near Oban has views to the distant isles including the Isle of Mull. This is a spectacular location for sunbathing and watersports, as the site is on a beach with easy access to safe bathing and sailing. It’s also the best of our Oban campsites for stunning sunsets – take a picnic to the beach as evening draws in.

Seaview Caravan Park is in a quiet location with stunning views over the sea and surrounding countryside, an ideal spot to park up for a few days. The campsite has direct access to the golden sands of Tralee Beach, only a five-minute walk away. Oban is 8.5 miles from the site, easily accessible for a shopping and sightseeing day.

The last of our recommended Oban campsites is a Camping and Caravanning Club Site 12 miles from town, set in a walled Victorian garden opposite a marina with a small beach. The Oban Camping and Caravanning Club Site is a level and sheltered site, with 75 pitches and modern facilities including a parent and child washroom. The site is next door to the Forestry Commission-managed woodland of Sutherland’s Grove, which is cross-crossed by colour-coded walks and cycle paths.
