1. Glamping near Cambridge

University town Cambridge is world-famous. Home to Cambridge University which dates back to the 13th century, Cambridge is a lively town with plenty of pubs, excellent restaurants and of course the famous Cambridge colleges.
Take a punt trip along the River Cam (hire your own punt or take a guided tour), wander around the colleges, or check out the many Cambridge museums including the Fitzwilliam Museum and the University Museum of Zoology. As night falls, take in a performance at the Arts Theatre or the Cambridge Corn Exchange , or spend the evening in Cambridge pubs such as The Free Press and the Eagle.
Stay in peaceful countryside a short bus ride from Cambridge at theCambridge Cherry Hinton Caravan Club Site, in ancient quarry works and a Site of Special Scientific Interest; buses from here to Cambridge take 25 minutes.
Within half an hour’s drive of Cambridge, Meadow View Campsite just outside the village of Wicken has grass and hardstanding pitches plus Wi-Fi, and is set alongside the Sustrans National Route 11 for bike rides to Ely.
2. Glamping in South Wales

South Wales has so much to see and do we recommend at least a few holidays here. It’s home to Swansea , Newport and Cardiff as well as stunning coastline around the Gower Peninsula.
The Brecon Beacons National Park covers about a third of South Wales including its highest mountain Pen y Fan , making the region a fabulous destination for active holidays.
Explore Welsh history at the Dan yr Ogof show caves and the tiny city of St Davids , or spend a day in Cardiff to see Cardiff Castle , the National Museum Cardiff and Cardiff Bay , where you can book boat trips or motorboat rides.
You won’t get much closer to Welsh capital Cardiff thanCardiff Camping and Caravanning, set in beautiful parkland 0.6 miles from the city centre. The park is the location of the cycling charity Pedal Power which has bike hire and a café. Just over 12 miles from Cardiff is Tredegar House Caravan And Motorhome Club Site, a beautifully-kept campsite in the grounds of a 17th-century manor house and with a 17th century orangery, gardens, woodland and ornamental lake.
3. Glamping in the Midlands

The Midlands is a great place to explore on a UK motorhome holiday , with many diverse landscapes and vibrant towns and cities. Britain’s second biggest city Birmingham is in the Midlands, along with other top destinations like Derby, Coventry, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire and England’s smallest county Rutland. Whether you choose to explore the East Midlands, West Midlands or a mixture of both, you’ll find plenty to see and do here.
Recommendations include the gigs, theatre and museums of Birmingham ; hiking Wenlock Edge , the Malvern Hills and the Peak District ; exploring the tranquillity of the Cotswolds ; and sightseeing in the ancient university town of Oxford.
Glamping lovers are spoilt for choice in the Midlands too. If you like to be close to urban sightseeing and nightlife , try**Somers Wood Caravan Park** just six miles from Coventry and three miles from Birmingham’s NEC – it has five-star facilities and is open all year. For a quieter vibe in a countryside setting,Woodside Country Park near Ledbury in Herefordshire is an award-winning campsite and glampsite over 25 acres of woodland and ponds. It’s set alongside the long-distance Herefordshire Trail and 10 miles from Hereford.
4. Glamping near Manchester

Just as Birmingham is a must-see city at some point on a UK holiday, so too is Manchester , as famous for its music scene as its football. Both Manchester City and Manchester United are based here, as are acclaimed music venues like the Manchester Arena , the biggest of its kind in Europe.
Other Manchester music venues to check out are the Manchester Apollo and the Manchester Academy , as well as the many pubs and nightclubs with live music and club nights. By day, go to see Manchester Cathedral , the Manchester Museum and the Manchester Jewish Museum.
Manchester is close to spectacular countryside – the Peak District to the east and the Pennines to the east and north – so it’s easy to find a campsite that combines the best of urban and rural holidays.
A campsite with a difference is Cheshire’s award-winning**Blakemere Touring Caravan Park**, on the long-established attraction Blakemere Village 22 miles from Manchester. The village has Segway hire, birds of prey experiences and shops. Also in Cheshire and 22 miles from Manchester is Lamb Cottage Caravan Park, an award-winning adults-only park over 7.5 acres of lawns and landscaped grounds.
5. UK November glamping – practical tips

How easy is it to glamp in the UK in November? If you hire a motorhome, so you can therefore choose a high level of comfort and warmth, it’s very easy indeed.
As with any cold-weather camping or motorhoming, make sure you pack well for a November trip, including plenty of warm clothes and a selection of waterproof items like a jacket, raincoat or wellington boots. Extra towels and blankets are also a good idea and you might need an extra duvet or two if the temperatures drop sharply.
UK November glamping – what to see and do

Bonfire Night on 5 November is celebrated all over the country and you’re sure to find an event near your campsite.
If you’re motorhoming in north-west England, theHuddersfield Contemporary Music Festival has 50+ events over 10 days, while the Blackpool Pleasure Beach theme park has a spectacular fireworks display around the start of the month. Christmas markets start in many towns and cities in the last week or fortnight of November.
There’s a lot to see in the great outdoors too. Look out for wildfowl such as ducks , geese and waders on lakes and reservoirs, and migrated geese on the muddy estuaries of the north west. Depending on the habitat, you might also see small mammals like squirrels or voles stocking food up for winter or others like hedgehogs and dormice getting ready for hibernation.

As it’s in low season as well as past the Halloween break and school half-term, November is a great choice for budget glamping.
