Best campervan-friendly festivals UK: complete guide
)
With Christmas approaching, and the dreary depths of winter not far behind, those summer days spent hitting up festivals feel more like a dream than a not-too-distant reality. But it’s never too early to plan, and whether you’ve already bagged yourself tickets to your favourite festival or are keen to try something new, Camplify will have you camping in comfort courtesy of our festival-ready campervans.
Take the stress out of finding accommodation and secure your festival vehicle early. We have hundreds of vans on our flexible cancellation policy (full refund up to seven days before departure), so all you need to think about is which 2023 festival you want to check out. Here are some of the most popular events booked by past campers.

Music festivals
Download Festival | 8–11 June, Leicestershire
With Metallica, Slipknot and Bring Me The Horizon headlining, the 20th edition of Download Festival will be one to remember for fans of heavier music. Donnington Park, where the festival is held, is smack bang in the middle of the country and easily reached from both Liverpool and Manchester.

We Out Here Festival | 10–14 August, Dorset
We Out Here was named as DJ Mag’s ‘Best Festival’ in 2021, and given it joins the musical dots between soul, hip hop, house, afro, electronica, jazz and beyond, it’s really no surprise. Be sure to check out the ‘Live In’ campsite when booking accommodation as it’s reserved for campervans, caravans and motorhomes. The Dorset-based festival is a two-hour drive from both London and Brighton, but even closer if you’re travelling from Bristol.
Latitude Festival | 20–23 July, Suffolk
Every year, thousands of people head east to Henham Park, on the Suffolk coast, for a festival incorporating music, dance, comedy, poetry, theatre, literature and more. Book a campervan and join them in 2023 to see Paolo Nutini, George Ezra and The Kooks take the stage, then hit the road to explore the rugged coast and scenic heathlands.
Literary festivals
Stratford Literary Festival | 2–7 May, Warwickshire
Love books, writing and reading? Then Stratford Literary Festival should be at the top of your list. It attracts thousands of word nerds every year and is held, of course, in Stratford-upon-Avon – the birth and burial place of Shakespeare. There are plenty of caravan parks outside of town, so don’t be afraid to go, as Jack Kerouac might suggest, On The Road.
Books By The Beach | 10–11 June, North Yorkshire
Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the Scarborough Book Festival, or Books By The Beach, is a seaside celebration of all things literary. The town of Scarborough is snugly sandwiched between the sea and North York Moors National Park, making it an ideal place to explore before or after the festival. If you have time, be sure to travel north up the coast to check out the historic – and mighty stunning – fishing village of Robin Hood’s Bay.

Family friendly festivals
Timber Festival | 7–9 July, Leicestershire
Three days of music, forests, art and ideas – that’s Timber Festival in a nutshell. It’s a super chilled festival in The National Forest and little campers are more than welcome. As you might expect, Timber is big on sustainability; you can still travel and camp with a campervan or caravan, but you’re asked to offset your carbon emissions if doing so. And why wouldn’t you?
Just So Festival | 18–20 August, Cheshire
Billing itself as ‘A family weekend adventure beyond your wildest dreams,’ Just So Festival incorporates music, dress ups, bake offs and all kinds of family fun. It’s as enjoyable for little kids as it is for the big ones, so don’t be afraid to gather the tribe and hit the road to Cheshire.
