1. Pembrokeshire Coast National Park – Celtic Camping

The stunning Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, the only fully coastal national park in the UK, is one of our Wales must-sees. Among its many highlights is lovely little St Davids on the national park’s northwestern tip, famous as the smallest city in the UK and as a place of spectacular sea views.
Stay at the 250-acre National Trust farm Celtic Camping for the best of this part of coastline, soaking up views over Abereiddy Bay, the Irish Sea and the slate quarry of the Blue Lagoon. It’s just five minutes’ walk to the coastal path from here, and the same to the farm’s own private beach. The well-maintained amenities include toilets, showers and electric hook-up.

2. New Quay/Cardigan Bay – Tyr Ffynnon Farm

If you’re on awest coast of Wales road trip, combine a drive from Pembrokeshire towards Cardigan Bay, between /St Davids and Bardsey Island. Cardigan Bay is the biggest bay in Wales, packed with jaw-droppingly beautiful beaches like Fishguard, as well as popular seaside towns and resorts including Aberystwyth and New Quay.
Just outside New Quay is Tyr Ffynnon Farm, high above Cardigan Bay with panoramic sea views and one of our favourite campsites in Wales near a beach. This quiet campsite and caravan park is on a working farm and within walking distance (200 metres) from a public footway leading to the world-famous Wales Coast Path.
Make sure you have a day trip to Aberystwyth too: travel writer Bill Bryson’s favourite UK seaside resort is a scenic 45 minutes’ drive away.

If you’re looking for a campervan site in what the Observer described as “one of the most beautiful spots in Britain”, Graig Wen is the place for you. This award-winning Snowdonia campsite is in a gorgeous countryside setting and wildlife haven close to the coast, four miles from Fairbourne Beach. It’s a top spot too for cycling and walking, as it has direct access to the Mawddach Trail in the south of Snowdonia National Park. The site has a wild camping vibe but includes plenty of well-kept amenities.

4. Isle of Anglesey – Bryn Ednyfed Caravan Site

On a North Wales road trip, drive across the Menai Strait to the wild and rugged Isle of Anglesey, the biggest island in Wales. Once on the island, head west towards remote Holyhead and stay at Bryn Ednyfed Caravan Site, an adults-only Anglesey campsite beside the RSPB Valley Wetlands reserve. With just 20 pitches, there’s loads of room for guests to spread out – lie back and watch the jets overhead from the nearby RAF valley at one of the most scenic campsites in Wales near a beach.
Feeling energetic on the way to Anglesey? Tackle Gyrn Goch, the Llyn Peninsula hill with beautiful views over the water from its summit.

5. North Wales – Bron-y-Wendon Holiday Park

Outside Anglesey, North Wales covers 200 miles of coastline and seaside resorts like Rhyl, Llandudno and Harlech, as well as Wales highlights like Snowdonia National Park, Caernarfon Castle and plenty of adventure sports.
Bron-y-Wendon Holiday Park at Colwyn Bay gives guests easy access to all of North Wales plus the Wales Coast Path a couple of minutes’ walk away – it’s so close to the coast that sea view pitches are standard and the nearest beach is under five minutes’ walk. This award-winning park has standard and super pitches, all with electric hook-up, and is 500 metres from its local village.

Heading south for our last campsite, the Gower Peninsula is yet another of our Wales must-sees! The first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty ever designated in the UK, it stretches for 70 scenic miles of coastline, caves and bays – including Three Cliffs Bay and the last of our coastal sites in Wales.
Three Cliffs Bay Caravan Park is another award winner, set by the Wales Coast Path and packed with modern amenities including a well-stocked shop and individual bathrooms with underfloor heating. This is easily one of the most comfortable campsites in Wales near a beach!
