Our 2016 Volkswagen Transporter T6 LWB is ready for adventure! Newly converted (completed 2024) with classic birch plywood furniture and modern appliances. Ready to go from Bamford in the heart of the Peak District; pick up and collection from train station included or off road parking available. At a glance... - Safety is top priority. No gas; combined diesel powered hob and heater. Fully tested seats, bed and roof. Smoke and CO alarms. Birch ply with classic formica surfaces. - 4 berth (2 in pop top and 2 on rock and roll bed) - Winter ready! Fully insulated, curtains throughout and diesel heater for toasty winter adventures. About us... We are a family run business with two VW Transporter vans available to rent (second van coming soon!). We've fitted our vans out to the highest possible standard without being "blingy" and with a nod to the classic VW California camper vans from the 1960s and 70s. Our vehicles are converted and have all the furniture and fittings designed and built in house. The furniture has been produced using a CNC machine and finished by hand to produce a classic finish. We're just under 30 minutes from Sheffield by car or train right in the heart of the Peak District. Your adventure can begin the moment you pick your van up! Driver requirements... - Full UK manual licence - Driver age 23-75 - Other restrictions apply, please contact for full details What's included... - Pots, pans, plates, bowls, cups, glasses, electric kettle, hob kettle, coffee perculator (very important), knives, forks etc. - 4 outdoor chairs + outdoor table - Full tank of diesel (please return full) - Electric hook up cable What you need to bring... - Sleeping bags or duvet for main bed (sheet and mattress protector provided), sleeping bags for roof bed (double, self-inflating mattress provided). - Food, drink and a sense of adventure!

  • The vehicles are not to be hired for:
  • Use as a van (e.g. moving possessions, materials, rubbish etc.)
  • Any business or commercial use including subletting or “hire and reward”
  • Any races, challenges, organised vehicle events or time trials
  • In hiring a vehicle you are agreeing to:
  • Use the vehicle within the geographic bounds of your agreement (e.g Peak District, UK or limited European use as per your rental agreement)
  • Use the vehicle only on marked and paved roads (other than within campsites or defined camping areas)
  • Vehicles must not be driven on:
  • “Green lanes” / Byways open to all traffic
  • Closed roads
  • Offroad routes
  • Beaches or tidal areas with the exception of tidal crossings (e.g. Holy Island) as long as the vehicle is driven only when the crossing is designated as open
  • Insurance will not cover any loss or damage caused if the vehicle is driven or parked in the areas listed above and any costs and damages incurred will need to be covered by the renter.
  • Vehicle Care and Cleaning
  • In hiring a vehicle we ask you to take good care of the vehicle and treat it as if it was your own. Please drive carefully and try and avoid unnecessary damage from things like pot holes and speed humps as well as taking care when manoeuvring down country lanes with hedgerows and restricted space.
  • Please take care of the inside of the vehicles and try not to walk in with muddy boots or get the interior wet or dirty. If the vehicle is returned with a considerable amount of dirt or mud then there will be an extra £50.00 inc VAT/hour cleaning fee due from the vehicle deposit. We don’t expect the vehicles to be immaculate when they are returned but we request that:
  • Rubbish is removed
  • Fridge is emptied
  • Sink, fridge and surfaces are wiped down
  • Plates, cups and pans are all washed up and returned to their stowages.
  • Hirer must be 23 years of age or older.

Bond

The owner of this listing provides their own hiring insurance. The accident excess for this van is £1,000.00 per damage event and is managed by Camplify. The owner may carry out their own additional driving licence and security checks.

Cancellations

Moderate

  • Cancel earlier than 31 days before the start of the booking and receive a full credit. Refunds available upon request (less any admin fees) and may take up to 30 days to process.
  • Cancel between 11 and 30 days before the start of the booking and receive 90% credit.
  • Cancellations less than 11 days before the start of booking will not be eligible for any credit or refund.

Dark Peak Camper Vans is a small, family run company in the heart of the Peak District. We rent out 2 VW T6 camper vans that have been lovingly converted to a high standard. "We" are Andy, Amy and our 3 children (+ dog + 5 cats....) and started our business to share our love of camper vans (and our slightly OCD love of birch plywood, formica and CNC machining!).
