1. Cwmdu Campsite

One of the best-known landmarks in the Brecon Beacons is Pen y Fan, the highest peak in South Wales (886 metres). Stay just 15 minutes’ walk from the mountain at four-star Cwmdu Campsite, right in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park among scenic views of the Black Mountains.

It’s a family-friendly and dog-friendly Brecon campsite with a wealth of facilities, all just a couple of minutes’ walk from the local village and a few minutes’ drive from Crickhowell.

2. Pencelli Castle Caravan & Camping Park

Next up is one of our favourite Brecon campsites! More outdoor adventures await at award-winning five-star Pencelli Castle Caravan & Camping Park a few miles from the market town of Brecon, surrounded by peaceful countryside and plenty of walking and biking trails. The Taff Cycle Trail passes the park entrance and the towpath of the Brecon and Monmouthshire Canal is adjacent to the camping fields.

Ask the friendly staff for tips on what to see and do nearby, or browse through the extensive tourist info in the Information Room. Buses to Brecon and Abergavenny stop at the park entrance.

Thrill the kids with a stay at the spectacular National Showcaves Centre for Wales/Dan yr Ogof, the biggest show caves system in Britain. In a peaceful green setting at the attraction and among mountains, Brecon Beacons Caravan & Camping Park has been voted as one of the top 25 caravan parks in the UK.

This is one of the most family-friendly Brecon campsites. Dan yr Ofag itself includes a dinosaur park, museum, Iron Age farm and play area as well as the caves. The caravan park’s plentiful amenities include electric hook-up, grey water outlets and water pipes, available on all pitches and included in the pitch price.

Peaceful stays or action-packed days are easily sorted at Lakeside Caravan & Camping Park, right next to Llangorse Lake in the Brecon Beacons National Park. Llangorse is the largest natural lake in Mid and South Wales: stay at its well-equipped caravan park for easy access to canoeing, kayaking, sailing, fishing and waterside walks and bike rides.

Chickens, owls, kingfishers, red kites, bats and otters are just a few of the creatures sharing the land at the final of our Brecon campsites. Camping at Ynysfaen is a small family-run campsite two miles from Trecastle in the northwest of the national park, set over five green acres by the River Usk.
