Another green and peaceful campsite, this time set on a 42-acre nature reserve between river and woodland, under 15 minutes’ drive from Pen-Y-Pass car park and access to Mount Snowdon. Ideal for small groups: “bubble field” available. Toilets and fresh water are available.

3. Llanystumdwy Camping and Caravanning Club Site, Tyddyn Sianel, Llanystumdwy, Gwynedd LL52 0LS

Well-equipped park on the Llŷn Peninsula, perfect for couples’ holidays. Within walking distance of the village of Llanystumdwy and a pub serving home-cooked food. Showers, toilets and wheelchair-accessible amenities on site.

Set off the northwest coast of Wales is Ynys Môn or the Isle of Anglesey, a beautiful island where most of the coastline is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Snowdonia National Park is easily accessible over the Minai Bridge from here, making Anglesey an awesome option for campervanners looking for something a little quieter in high season.
