Additional information

To hire driver must be over 21 and held a full licence for two years and no more than 2 x 3 points. Two proof of address and a check license code be obtained. A £150.00 deposit will be taken on a card at time of hire, when van is returned with no damage full tank of diesel this deposit will be returned. Van is available on the Isle of Lewis and Harris.

Hiring rules

• No smoking
• We need 2x proof of address, eg utility bill. Council tax bill etc, also generate a check licence code on the DVLA website, your drivers license and passport if other than a UK licence. Also a payment card for the £150.00 deposit. Hirers must have held a full licence for 2 years. Unfortunately we can’t accept licences from USA, Canada, SouthAfrica

• Hirer must be 21 years of age or older.

The owner of this listing provides their own hiring insurance. The accident excess for this van is £750.00 per damage event and is managed by Camplify. The owner may carry out their own additional driving licence and security checks.

  A great van for exploring the Hebrides and nice to drive. Well equipped for basic self catering and having the toilet & shower on board gave us flexibility of campsite options. There were two of us, so we had a bed each, we found the back bed a bit too cozy for two! Alex's videos about the van prior to our holiday were really helpful & good to refer to as fairly novice camper vanners! Would highly recommend, thanks Alex for giving us this great opportunity.

  We hired out Alex Dans Van for our 3 night 4 day travels around the Outer Hebridies. From even just enquiring, the communication between myself and Alex was swift. We went over on the ferry to Stornoway and was greeted by Alex who was waiting for us in arrivals at the ferry port. We filled out some documents and away we went. The van is a converted minibus and it had absolutely everything we need. Bedding was provided, cutlery and cooking bits and bobs, dog car lead etc. there were also some maps and little books about the area. The van was clean and despite it being an old minibus and has had lots of people use it, it was in fab condition! The van took us right around both Lewis and Harris and we couldnt have asked for more. We would definitely use Alex Dans Van again and hope to be back up on the island again soon!

  It was great being able to pull up beside beaches and spend the night in comfort. Van was fine to drive, powerful for any steep bits. The 3/4 bed was fab for two teenagers. The info folder in van has site details, but as the van has all you need, don't need to go on a site, except to empty the loo and fill up water. Used Laxdale on return to Stornoway. Found a spot to park on a beach 5 mins further on, off B895 over the brow of a hill, past an old caravan site, turn next right just before a bridge onto a dirt track. If you park in a drop off space at the ferry, can get strong Cal Mac public WIFI to watch Netflix, if you have an early ferry to catch! Alex was lovely and very chilled.
