What's included? Based on our own camping experience, in addition to all the permanent fixtures, our vans are equipped with everything we think you should need for your dream trip including: Fresh bedding / Memory foam topper Pots / Pans / Cooking utensils / Cutlery / Crockery / Mugs / Glasses Washing up equipment A whistle Kettle Tea / Coffee Aluminium foldaway table 2x folding camping chairs There are also no mileage restrictions so go wherever the road takes you! So what should I bring? You should bring a USB cable for your phone (if you intend on staying connected). We would suggest going via the supermarket on route to your first stop to pick up the fry up gear (absolutely essential). If there are more than 2 people travelling, and you plan on using the pop roof to sleep, you should bring sleeping bags. Please notify us in advance of your booking so we can include an additional mattress topper. How many people can sleep in the van? All our campers have a rock 'n' roll bed which can sleep 2 people. In addition, they are equipped with a pop roof and bed boards. We would suggest that the pop roof is a good fit for 1 adult, and we would suggest that the van's are better suited to either 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children. Can we wild camp or should we book onto camp sites? All our vans are fitted with a leisure battery to support off grid camping, and both Lily and Rosie are fitted with Solar panels, however in our experience, you can't beat having access to the amenities a good campsite will offer including shower / toilet facilities. We have a list of camp sites where we have had the pleasure of stopping over along the NC500 route and around the Lake District which we would be happy to recommend. Please check out www.visitscotland.com for further information on wild camping. How much will it cost on fuel? This entirely depends on your planned route. The NC500 is just over 500 miles, however this is based on starting in Inverness. In our opinion, starting your journey in Glasgow will open your eyes to a world of amazing scenery not encompassed by the traditional NC500 route including the Trossachs, Glen Coe, Skye etc... and depending on how much you want to squeeze in, could very well end up the NC1000! Are your campers dog friendly? Yes! Lily and Holly are Dog Friendly. Please contact us prior to booking to ensure your pet is suitable for the size of the camper. Our dog friendly campers are absolutely spotless, so even if you don't have pets, please don't hesitate to book Lily or Holly, if Rosie isn't available on your chosen dates Is insurance covered? Yes our vans come with fully comprehensive insurance and is available to anyone aged between 23 and 75. The insurance covers the vehicle only, and not your belongings. Do I have to leave a deposit? This is managed through Camplify. Please refer to their terms for details If you have any other enquiries feel free to contact us and we'll be happy to assist.

Hiring rules

• TERMS AND CONDITIONS
• Pick up and drop off:
• Collection of the camper van is from 2pm on departure date unless through prior agreement. This allows us to clean, sanitise and prepare the vehicle to our exacting standards.
• Return of the camper van should be before 11am on the selected return date. You will be charged a full day’s hire for any late return
• Conditions of hire:
• 1) Prior to the commencement of any hire we shall have to:
• a) Inspect the driving license of the hirer and any other permitted driver.
• b) Be satisfied themselves that the hirer and any driver
• i) are not under the age of 23 or over 79 years of age.
• ii) has held a full UK or EU license for a minimum of 2 years.
• iii) has not had their license suspended for any period within the last three years.
• iv) has not been involved in more than one fault incident within the last three years.
• v) has no more than two convictions with a maximum of 3 points per conviction.
• vi) has not obtained a BA,DD or UT conviction
• 2) The insured vehicle shall only be let out on hire to a person who has signed and completed a rental agreement or the hirer/driver proposal for each period of hire
• 3) The insured shall have completed, prior to releasing vehicle, identity checks including copies of all drivers licenses, 2 utility bills dated within three months of the hire and the deposit being taken by a clear and traceable means such as a debit or credit card.
• 4) In the event of a theft by hirer claim an excess equal to 25% of the vehicle value will apply.
• 5) In the event of a claim resulting from the use of cooking/heating appliances, a 25% coinsurance excess will apply, subject to a minimum excess of £500.00.
• 6) The Insured vehicle shall not be used for the carriage of goods of an explosive, dangerous or hazardous nature or for the carriage of goods or passengers for hire and reward or any other form of profit or remuneration.
• 7) Any return premium for cancellation of this insurance or following any other amendment to this insurance will be allowed only at the discretion of the Insurer.
• Excess
• In the event that any damages are caused to the vehicle, your deposit will be retained up to the full value of your deposit to cover the cost of any repairs.
• Fuel
• Our fuel policy is “Full to Full” which means the customer receives the car with a full fuel tank and when returning the vehicle the tank must also be full. If the tank is not full when returned, there will be a surcharge of £20.00 + the remaining cost to refill. This amount will be withheld from your deposit.
• Payment
• We accept Paypal, Shopify Pay, credit and debit cards. We do not accept cheques. The full cost of the rental will be taken at the time of booking.
• We reserve the right to cancel your booking should you not meet the following criteria:
• If any information you have provided us with at booking is incorrect or invalid. E:G. Driver’s license number.
• When collection vehicle, all documentation must match the booking details you provided.
• It is your responsibility to read these terms and conditions and ensure you meet the criteria to hire one of our vehicles. Should it be established at handover that you do not meet this criteria, the full rental amount will be nonrefundable.
• Child seats
• Our vehicles are not equipped with ISOFIX. The rear bench is equipped with seatbelts. It is the Hirer’s responsibility to ensure that child seats are used in the vehicle where appropriate.

• Smoking and Pets
• There is a zero tolerance policy with regards to smoking. Pets are only allowed in dedicated ‘pet friendly’ camper vans. Any contravention of these terms will result in a £200.00 fine being retained from your deposit.
• Limitation of Liabilities
• We accept no liability for any consequential loss claims arising from the breakdown of the Vehicle, fair wear and tear excepted, or any accident or other such related causes.
• You are personally liable for all road tolls, fines and legal penalties (eg parking tickets and speeding fines) which are incurred during your period of hire. Any charges subsequently notified to us will be immediately communicated to you for payment within their terms.
• The Hirer shall be solely responsible for the costs of repairs outside of the scope of the insurance cover including but not restricted to: damage to windscreen, tyres and punctures.
• Our responsibility
• At the start of the rental period we will make available a freshly cleaned, well maintained campervan containing all the items listed on the product inventory.
• We will provide, at no cost to you, standard vehicle insurance for your nominated driver subject to checks revealing no adverse results.
• Breakdown cover will also be provided at no cost to you. In the event of a breakdown that cannot be resolved by the breakdown service at the roadside, resulting in the campervan being towed back to our address, we will refund the cost of the remaining hire days.
• If for whatever reason (accident or late return etc) we are unable to fulfil all or part of your booking, we will contact you as soon as possible to let you know. A partial or full refund will be given.
• Mileage
• There are no mileage limits in place.
• Availability
• On occasion, campervans are returned having sustained damage, and if the time constraints do not allow us to effect a satisfactory repair on time, we may need to offer a substitute campervan. Should this be unacceptable to you, or no other camper van is available, then a full refund will be provided. The liability of Miles Away Campers Ltd will be limited to the refund of monies paid and will accept no further claims.
• Accidents, theft and vandalism
• You must, where possible, report any traffic accident involving the van to the police (and us) immediately and report loss, damage or theft involving the van to the police (and us) within 24 hours of the incident or discovery of the incident.
• Our insurance requires that you must not admit to any liability, release any party from liability, settle any claim or accept any disclaimer in the event of the accident, but should, if possible, take the names and addresses of everyone involved, including witnesses, car registration numbers, together with all the details of the accident, time, place, how it came about, damage to vehicles etc. If you have a camera or smart phone, take photos of the scene. As long as it is practical to do so, please do not move the vehicles before the police arrive.
• In the event of theft, you must return the keys to us where possible. You agree to cooperate with us and our insurers in any investigation or subsequent legal proceedings, providing evidence and attending court if necessary, arising out of any loss of or damage to the vehicle.
• Keys
• In the event that keys are lost or damaged, you will be liable for the reasonable costs of obtaining replacement keys, and any costs associated with providing spare keys to you during the hire period. You must always lock the van when not in use.

The owner of this listing provides their own hiring insurance. The accident excess for this van is £500.00 per damage event and is managed by Camplify. The owner may carry out their own additional driving licence and security checks.
