Meet Vera, a handcrafted tiny home on wheels, built slowly and thoughtfully during a sabbatical with real adventures in mind. She’s not a factory conversion: every part of her layout has been shaped by lived experience, balancing comfort, practicality and true off grid freedom. Vera has been road tested across the Outer Hebrides, Scotland and Wales in all seasons from windswept coastal nights to crisp winter mornings and long summer road trips. She’s designed for real comfort in real places, not just campsites. Inside, Vera has three belted front seats, a cosy dining area for two, and a fixed bed sleeping up to two people (no nightly converting — just arrive, unwind and climb straight in). The bed features a bespoke Linthorpe small double camper mattress, genuinely super comfy. Heating is via a diesel heater fed directly from the main tank, complete with key-fob remote so you can warm Vera before stepping inside on chilly mornings or evenings. She’s built for proper off-grid stays, with a 280Ah lithium leisure battery, 2000W inverter, split-relay charging (while driving), 350W solar panel, plus battery protector and voltmeter display allowing comfortable, self-sufficient adventures without hook-ups. The kitchen is fully equipped with a 2-ring gas hob and includes: two metal camping mugs, two cups, two melamine bowls, two large plates, two small plates, cutlery for four, chopping board, kettle, frying pan, large and small saucepans, colander, sharp knives, tin opener, corkscrew/bottle opener and tiny grater. There’s also an air fryer (runs via inverter), collapsible washing-up bowl and small dustpan and brush. Just bring food and you’re ready to go. For outdoor living, Vera comes with two Vango camping chairs, folding table, Fiamma awning and waterproof outdoor rug, perfect for relaxed evenings outside. She has a portable Porta Potti toilet stored under the seat by the sliding door (typically needs emptying about every two weeks depending on use), plus two 20L water tanks (fresh and waste) under the sink, with pumped fresh water to the kitchen. In the cab you’ll find a CarPlay screen for navigation, music and hands-free calls, plus a JBL Bluetooth speaker for evenings at camp. Vera is dog friendly (up to two dogs). Well-behaved furry companions are very welcome, please bring your own blankets for seats/bed, ensure dogs are clean and dry before entering and remove any hair or mud before return to help keep Vera lovely for the next guests. Vera is a cosy, self-sufficient tiny home. With her fixed bed layout, generous lithium setup, solar system and inverter, Vera offers real freedom — and she’s ready to help you make your own memories.

Additional information

Vera is easy to drive but is a high-roof camper, so please be mindful of height restrictions and low bridges. Full handover is provided on collection, and I’m always happy to help before or during your trip. Vera is also covered by Green Flag roadside assistance while on hire, for extra peace of mind. Vera lives in Wargrave, Berkshire, on a quiet residential street with no parking restrictions. She’s ideally placed for countryside adventures, with the Chiltern Hills nearby and both the Cotswolds and North Wessex Downs less than an hour away. Wargrave is accessible by train via Twyford, and nearby Reading offers excellent rail connections with fast links from London and major airports including Heathrow and Gatwick. If you drive to collect Vera, you’re welcome to leave your car in her usual residential parking spot for the duration of your trip. I’m always happy to share personalised recommendations, scenic walks, quiet park-ups, cosy pubs, dog-friendly routes or off-grid tips, just tell me what kind of trip you’re thinking of. Vera began life as a hardworking Vauxhall Movano panel van before being transformed by hand into a cosy, self-sufficient tiny home. Built slowly and thoughtfully with durability, warmth and independence in mind, her fixed bed layout, generous lithium setup, solar system and inverter reflect a focus on real freedom. She’s travelled across Scottish islands, Welsh mountains and windswept coastlines, proving herself capable, comfortable and dependable in all seasons. Vera isn’t just transport, she’s a carefully created little home, ready to help you make your own memories.
