Meet Frankie, a cosy Wildax campervan based in the heart of the Lake District. Perfect for singles or couples who want to slow down and explore the fells, lakes and hidden corners of Cumbria. Dog friendly (small dogs preferred) for an extra charge. Frankie is super easy to drive, not much bigger than an SUV, cleverly equipped, and surprisingly spacious. The fun stuff: -Awning -Hot water shower -'Flushing' toilet' -Big oven -Full fridge (even has a tiny freezer) -TV/DVD player Plus the practical stuff: -Refillable LPG tank (easy to fill at petrol station pumps) - Large 100 litre Fresh water tank / 80 litre Waste water tank - Fully winterised water tanks - LED lighting all round - Automatic retracting electric step - LPG heating - Fly screen at sliding door opening. - Good blinds throughout - Rear reversing camera and beepers - Only 2.5m high Please return Frankie clean and tidy, ready for the next adventure — including removing all rubbish, wiping surfaces, and emptying the toilet cassette. If the van is returned in a condition that requires additional cleaning beyond normal use, a cleaning fee of £65 may be applied. Or you can pay upfront for cleaning under the 'extras' section. Pets are welcome for the extra charge of £30 per booking.

Cancellations

Flexible

  • Cancel earlier than 10 days before the start of the booking and receive a full credit. Refunds available upon request (less any admin fees) and may take up to 30 days to process.
  • Cancel between 4 and 10 days before the start of the booking and receive 90% credit. Booking fees will not be credited.
  • Cancellations less than 4 days before the start of booking will not be eligible for any credit or refund.

    My partner and I hired Frankie for 16 days to travel around Scotland. Wed never used a camper van before, and as beginners we found everything really good, would strongly recommend Frankie for anyone else whos new to camper van life. Had everything we needed - good kitchen supplies with hob, oven and kettle, and the bathroom was good (we didnt use the shower, but the toilet was easy to use and manage). The heating system was also good, the van warmed quickly in bad weather. Frankie was a good van to drive - we had very little experience driving a van but found it easy to drive. Being on the smaller end made driving and parking easier (we could fit in normal car park spaces in most car parks), as did the reversing camera and sensors. Easy to connect your phone for music too, and the air con was good in the heat wave. We had a medium to large dog with us - a 35kg Akita - and Frankie was big enough for the three of us (though our dog is 12 years old and has 3 legs, so not the most lively!). Sam also left some dog supplies for us. Storage space was good too - enough cupboard and wardrobe space to store everything we needed for the trip. Sam was really great - always available via WhatsApp. She also provided loads of really helpful videos for everything you need to know about the van (these are available via a QR code in the van). Things like connecting the electric hookup, filling the water, emptying the toilet, turning on the electrics or gas in the van etc. As we were new to camper van life, this made it much easier to get used to life in a camper van.     We rented Frankie over the bank holiday weekend and had the best time! The van was spotlessly clean, has all the facilities you could possibly need, and was perfect for first timers. We didn't need an electrical hook up because the leisure battery was so efficient, and the bed and seats were so comfortable we had the cosiest night's sleep. Plenty of room for two people plus our cocker spaniel. They even provided camping chairs, picnic blanket, and a table for sitting outside. We cannot recommend this experience enough, and Sam was incredibly helpful all along the way!

Hi, I'm Sam! Born and bred in the Lakes, I'm a big lover of outdoor adventures. Having hired campers for many years, last year I took the plunge and bought Frankie! Together, we've been to the Alps, all around Scotland, the Yorkshire Dales, Northumberland and the East coast, and he's really looked after me, and been very well-behaved. I'm a solo traveller, with a little dog, so having a van that is easy to drive and park is super important to me. I also like a little space around the bed, so I opted for a non-fixed bed configuration. Having the kitchen at the back means you open the back doors and enjoy your cooking without the lingering smells. I'm always at the end of a text, WhatsApp or phone call to answer any questions or help you find somewhere amazing to camp. I hope you love and care for Frankie like I do!
