Both Dai and our location are perfect for exploring the Lake District, Eden Valley, North Yorkshire Dales, Scottish Borders and the Solway Coast (including Hadrian's Wall). Dai's compact size (he is a Japanese Kei car) makes him ideal for the narrow lanes of Cumbria, Scottish Borders and the Solway Coast. He isn't fast, but he isn't short of character either, and sits high, providing excellent views over hedges throughout your journey. Although we don't allow off-road use or green-laning, his 4x4 system will ensure you can access the most basic campsites and won't get stuck on waterlogged campgrounds. If you are looking for a vehicle to travel across the UK or into Europe, you may want to consider one of his larger siblings. Dai is equipped with the following equipment to ensure that you have a brilliant time camping with an elevated view. Additional information

For shorter hire periods, Dai is equipped with all the camping essentials, except for a toilet and shower, so you will need to factor this into your holiday plans when selecting camping locations. For extended trips where you are likely to stay longer in fewer locations, or for static hires, we can include an additional awning room, composting toilet and external showering facilities upon request.

Hiring rules

  • Standard collection times will be from 3 pm on the first day, and the vehicle must be returned by 11:00 on the final day of hire unless otherwise requested and agreed in writing with the owner.
  • Pull over immediately if any engine lights illuminate. If an accident occurs, get off the road, stay safe, and either call me on 0777 600 7928 or Camplify on 0330 808 1811.
  • Strictly no smoking in or around the vehicle. This includes the cab, roof tent and all awning spaces, thank you.
  • No offroad use or greenlaning use is allowed, other than to access legitimate campsites.
  • A small pet may be accepted by prior agreement upon application & suitability.
  • Not to be used at or to attend festivals without the prior written agreement of the owner. The vehicle is equipped with GPS tracking, and evidence of this rule being ignored will result in the loss of the full security deposit.
  • The awning must be packed away before it is put at risk by weather events. Please see the provided video for the correct setup and takedown of the awning.
  • All litter and waste must be removed from the vehicle before returning.
  • Please place the gas stove onto the aluminium table provided when cooking, and ensure compliance with all fire warnings on the tent and awnings.
  • No cooking or naked flames within the cab of the vehicle or the roof tent.
  • Any damage must be reported immediately – who, what, where and when will be required. Please take lots of pictures.
  • Please empty any wastewater before returning the vehicle
  • Payment of the deposit is required within 48 hours of your booking being approved, otherwise it may be cancelled.
  • A mileage limit of 100 miles per day is automatically included in the booking price. You will be charged £0.45p per mile for additional distance travelled over the total allowance. This is calculated within Camplify’s pre and posthire checklist. Please let the owner know where you plan to travel to avoid these charges and to ensure that Dai is suitable for your requirements.
  • Fuel – return filled with unleaded petrol. All hires include a full tank upon departure.
  • No offroad driving/beach driving / extended driving on gravel roads
  • No free camping without the permission of the landowner.
  • Hirer must be 25 years of age or older.

Bond

The owner of this listing provides their own hiring insurance. The accident excess for this van is £750.00 per damage event and is managed by Camplify. The owner may carry out their own additional driving licence and security checks.

Cancellations

Moderate

  • Cancel earlier than 31 days before the start of the booking and receive a full credit. Refunds available upon request (less any admin fees) and may take up to 30 days to process.
  • Cancel between 11 and 30 days before the start of the booking and receive 90% credit.
  • Cancellations less than 11 days before the start of booking will not be eligible for any credit or refund.
