Meet Martin — Our 2023 VW California Beach Get ready to fall in love with the freedom of van life. Martin is a 2023 VW California Beach a factory-built campervan by Volkswagen, not a conversion so everything is thoughtfully designed and expertly engineered. He even comes with his own "MARTINi" Racing stripe, so expect a few extra waves from fellow travellers on the road. With under 30,000 miles on the clock, Martin feels almost new. Comfort & Driving Martin seats five and sleeps two adults very comfortably — a full-width lower bed (1.5m wide) plus a double in the pop-up roof. Automatic transmission makes him easy to drive, and adaptive cruise control takes the stress out of longer journeys. Highlights include: •Wireless Apple CarPlay / Android Auto •DAB radio, Bluetooth audio & hands-free calling •Rear-view camera & parking sensors •Air conditioning (front and rear cabins, when driving) •Heated front seats •Swivelling front seats for a sociable living space •Privacy glass in the rear •A VW bike rack, capable of carrying up to 4 bikes Cooking & Camping Martin has a fold-out gas hob built in, perfect for quick meals. For outdoor cooking on longer trips, we can provide a separate camping stove. Inside, full LED dimmable lighting sets the mood for a relaxed evening. Heating: Please Read In cooler months, Martin comes with a small oil-filled electric radiator. This only works when connected to a campsite electrical hook-up. An electric heated throw is also available. If you're planning to wild camp, please bear in mind there is no onboard heating — pack accordingly! Hiring rules

  • Treat Martin as you would your own van
  • Familiarise yourself with all his systems at collection
  • No smoking / vaping inside Martin
  • Pets are negotiable — message me first if you're planning to travel with one
  • Keep him reasonably tidy as you go. Use the cleaning supplies provided for small spills and bits
  • Don't overload the roof bars (max 30kg) or bike rack (max 60kg total)
  • Return him with a full fuel tank
  • Keep driving speeds sensible
  • Leave a message with any issues so I can address them ASAP
  • Insurance Requirements Hirer must be between 25 and 70 years of age and have held a driving license for 2 years
  • Martin has a mileage allowance of 250 miles per day, then a charge of 45p per mile after that. This will be calculated within Camplify’s pre and postchecklists
  • If anything's unclear or you have concerns during your trip, get in touch we're here to help.
  • Hirer must be 25 years of age or older.

Cancellations

Flexible

  • Cancel earlier than 10 days before the start of the booking and receive a full credit. Refunds available upon request (less any admin fees) and may take up to 30 days to process.
  • Cancel between 4 and 10 days before the start of the booking and receive 90% credit. Booking fees will not be credited.
  • Cancellations less than 4 days before the start of booking will not be eligible for any credit or refund.
