Heidi’s house on wheels! The Chaletvan makes everyone smile, it’s like having a puppy or a baby, you’ll make lots of friends with her and get lots of waves. She’s clean, bright and simple on the inside. Just battery powered lights, a bed, a camping table, camping stove and bbq (plus essential mocha pot!), a pull out loo and plenty of space. She does have a 12v cool box, leisure battery, points to charge your mobile phone and laptop plus electrical hook up should you need it. There’s also a funky camping shower (for outdoor use only), bluetooth speakers, books, camping chairs, umbrellas, a washing line and some other fun bits and bobs.

The bed is 1m20 wide by 1m78 long (about five foot ten long). So if you’re six foot and you like to sleep poker straight you might struggle, but for those that like to curl and cuddle it’s just fine. It’s not a king size bed in a hotel, but that’s not the point. There is no AC but I have those aluminium foil things to stick in the windows if it does get hot. There is also a large roof vent for when you’re stationary.

Hiring rules

  • Hirer must empty toilet before returning and clean any dishes, pans and cutlery used.
  • Insurance requirements: Hirer age restricted to 25 70 years; Driving licences restricted to UK, EU, EEA, AU and NZ; No more than 6 points in the past 5 years for nonmajor offences.
  • Hirer must be 25 years of age or older.

Cancellations

Flexible

  • Cancel earlier than 10 days before the start of the booking and receive a full credit. Refunds available upon request (less any admin fees) and may take up to 30 days to process.
  • Cancel between 4 and 10 days before the start of the booking and receive 90% credit. Booking fees will not be credited.
  • Cancellations less than 4 days before the start of booking will not be eligible for any credit or refund.

    Absolutely fantastic time in the Chaletvan! Everyone stopped to say hello and we got asked for photos on the way round! A truly unique experience and certainly one well come back to. Lara was fantastic, very friendly and helpful and made everything a breeze! Couldnt recommend this enough!

    My daughter and I had an amazing time in the Chaletvan at Glastonbury. We were volunteering and so were there for 8 days and so wanted a van rather than camp. The van had everything we needed and the bed was perfect for us. We definitely slept better in the van compared to when we camped in the past. You do get asked by strangers if they can take pictures of the van . We would love to hire again in the future.

    This van is a bundle of fun on the outside and practical on the inside. We spent a week in Scotland and it was great. Everyone gives you a wave or thumbs up while passing or comes up to have a chat about it. It's a great conversation starter.
